Brinsop Court – Information
Brinsop Court is set in a 800 acre estate in Herefordshire, a magnificent medieval manor encircled by its own moat, it offers real wow factor from the moment you arrive. Surrounded by rolling countryside as far as the eye can see, this beautiful country estate offers complete privacy and seclusion, along with excellent opportunities for outdoor activities or idyllic country walks.
Stepping through the mighty oak doors feels like entering an oasis of calm and luxury, with beautiful original features in abundance throughout the property. Marvel at the wood panelled walls, the intricate ceilings and fireplaces (one fireplace is directly from Chequers and reinstated here) and amazing windows and vaulted beams. Yet there is a decidedly contemporary twist, with clear view log burners, beautiful artwork, rich colours and sumptuous furnishings creating a stunning blend of old and new.
The property is set around a charming courtyard which is a real suntrap, perfect for summer drinks or BBQs and filling the rooms with light wherever you go. The property itself is vast but feels so warm and homely, with two lovely spacious sitting rooms perfect for groups and plenty of nooks to curl up with a book from the extensive library. The beautiful main country kitchen is very spacious and well equipped, and there are no less than two dining rooms, an elegant Queen Anne style dining room flooded with natural light with lovely views, and a more relaxed informal dining space. There are also several smaller kitchens around the house with tea/coffee facilities and fridges etc.
For special occasions the amazing 12th Century banqueting hall is the perfect setting, with exposed stone walls, beams and double height vaulted ceilings creating a wonderfully atmospheric space for up to 70 guests to dine in style. The floor is made from oak felled from the estate’s trees, and the secret door, huge open fireplace and mood lighting add to the ambiance, or adorn the windows and mantles with a sea of candles for a truly intimate and atmospheric feel.
There is a very spacious games room with a pool table, table tennis, and darts, a spa treatment room available and outside there is a tennis court, croquet lawn, hot tub and bikes and fishing rods available for guests’ use. The estate extends over 800 acres with ancient woodland, meadows, orchards and pastures, with beautiful walks from the doorstep as well as several marked treasure trails around the estate. The grounds are very private and offer beautiful views, and there is a private lake and a trout filled moat that runs around the property, with serene swans gliding gently by and an abundance of wildlife throughout the estate. The lawns next to the house are ideal for impromptu cricket, croquet or football matches. There are two resident ponies which like to be taken for walks and terraces to sit out on and bird watch. There are fire pits for outdoor cooking and BBQs and outdoor furniture are all available.
