Whether you are looking for a country playground for a weekend of pure hedonism, or a place to rest and rejuvenate, you will find no better place than Dormy House. The Danish owners have made Dormy House the epitome of the hygge philosophy – a feeling of contentment and wellbeing that comes from being comfortable and cosy with people you enjoy spending time with. Whether your idea of heaven is curling up by the fire or celebrating into the night, you can be sure of a stay that is relaxed yet indulgent, homely yet luxurious.

The idyllic honey coloured 17th Century farmhouse, lined by creamy dry-stone walls and immaculately manicured lawns sets the scene to come. Pull up the imposing oak door and be whisked inside by smartly dressed staff, where you will find beautiful interiors combining Cotswold chic with cool clean lines and soft colours to create a luxurious retreat without a hint of pretence. The feeling here is welcoming and cosy, with vast fireplaces, beautiful original features and spectacular views from virtually every window.

The spectacular Back Garden room is a beautiful light-filled space with glass walls overlooking the pretty walled garden, traditionally the dining room for up to 70 guests this versatile space can also be used for drinks receptions and dancing. Guests at Dormy House can expect fabulous food, with the head chef celebrating the finest ingredients in the Cotswolds, including high-welfare rare-breed meats, vegetables grown in the gardens and responsibly cultivated grains –all sourced and served in tune with the rhythms of nature.

The Potting Shed has a more relaxed, rustic feel, with a large leather-and-oak bar and exposed stone walls. Dining here is simple yet delicious dining with high quality, locally sourced ingredients, or simply enjoy cocktails and the extensive wine list if you’d rather. There are four additional private dining rooms at Dormy House seating from 10 to 14 guests, or when exclusivity of the entire house is taken, these can be used however you wish.

There are three beautiful lounges at Dormy House, the Yellow Lounge overlooks the front of the house and is a wonderfully cosy room with its huge stone fireplace and exposed stone and beams, whilst the Blue Lounge is an elegant room flooded with natural light with its dual aspect windows. The intimate Red Lounge leads off the Blue, with a delightful fireplace built into the wall separating the lounge with reception.

The Dormy House Spa is the perfect place to relax and unwind, it is easy to see why the spa has won a host of awards with its sleek indoor infinity pool lit by candlelit, a fireside hydrotherapy hot tub on the terrace and a thermal suite with salt infusion steam rooms, juniper and lavender saunas and an ice experience. There are also several spa treatment rooms, a gym and a champagne nail bar for the ultimate indulgence. Please do note that all guests have access to the spa, however, should Dormy House be taken on an exclusive use basis, the spa wouldn’t be part of the exclusivity and would remain open to its members.

The 38 bedrooms and suites are individually designed and beautifully furnished in a country-cottage style, with soft colours and sumptuous bedding to providing a calming space to relax and rejuvenate. All rooms feature luxury en-suite bathrooms with Temple Spa bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and there is free WiFi throughout.

The rooms range across three categories and are located in the original main farmhouse, the Emily Wing or the Danish Courtyard, all very close to the main house. There are also 8 suites at Dormy House in addition to the Scandi style courtyard suites, which all feature outdoor hot tubs on their private terrace. For those requiring complete privacy, Rose Cottage is a lovely stand-alone cottage in the courtyard with hot-tub, a separate lounge and outdoor table and chairs.

Dormy House is set in the 500-acre Farncombe Estate with a huge choice of activities available for guests to enjoy, from Broadway Golf Course located just next door to Segway safaris and country pursuits. Wellies are provided in all guest bedrooms for exploring the estate in comfort.

Dormy House is located in the idyllic Cotswolds, with mile after mile of beautiful walks, sublime scenery and picture-perfect villages. The village of Broadway is just down the hill, renowned as one of the Cotswolds’ most beautiful villages, with an abundance of quaint tea rooms, charming pubs and restaurants and independent shops, whilst the regency spa town of Cheltenham is just 30 minutes away with its beautiful architecture and fine dining restaurants.
