The Old Byre – Reviews
From the moment of arrival it was obvious nothing had been spared in ensuring every amenity had been provided to ensure guests could want for nothing.
It is rare nowadays to find expectations exceeded, not just met.
I can only suggest. as other reviewers have, that you find a group of friends (the more the better) and an excuse to celebrate. If all else fails then the excuse can be you don’t want to miss out on such a great venue.
There’s fresh air, walking/cycling/sightseeing, historic towns, picturesque villages and all in easy reach of a venue hidden away in a tiny village.
We were there for a special 50th Birthday celebration – special thanks to Lisa ad Jason for the excellent food. Lisa and Jason run the pub cum village store “The Bells Inn” at Almeley. Well worth a visit.
Do look at the Elysian Estates website: we stayed at the Old Byre but there is more, equally excellent accommodation and facilities, in the rest of the venue.
The Byre was great for our group; plenty of space; quality fixtures and fittings; lovely area for walking; plenty to see and do.
The Old Byre offers luxurious accommodation for a relaxing and fun country break, it is also an ideal venue for a party. With an open plan arrangement, elegant decor and well appointed furnishings, we would have no hesitation in recommending the Old Byre to those wanting a special country retreat.
The catering at our party was provided by Lisa ad Jason of the Bells Inn at Almeley a nearby pub and delicatessen which is worth a visit. The food was plentiful, rustic home cooked food that all of our guests raved about.
All in all our stay at the Barns was a fantastic experience, with all our friends asking, “when can we go back again”
The owners of The Barns are incredibly helpful and accommodating. From booking The Barns, they were able to answer any queries I had in full. Once we all arrived, we were greeted by Sally who showed us around The Old Byre and taught us how to use certain amenities such as the Aga and the Log Fire which we were not familiar with. The photos are very representative of the overall standard and cleanliness. There was a small welcome hamper which contained some snacks and fresh apple juice which was really thoughtful.
There was lots of information made available to us about places to eat out, order from and get supermarket deliveries from which was useful. There was lots of car parking available.
The beds were really comfortable and there was ample space for 10 people. The bathrooms were all extremely clean and the showers were excellent. There was more than enough towels made available to us, spa towels and slippers for the hot tub. The hot tub was great!
We had a slight issue as we set the hot tub to the wrong temperature but we called up and it was sorted out for us in no time. Overall, the girls and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book it again.Mittie S
