Erskine House – Information

Tucked away in idyllic heart of England countryside, Erskine House is truly a hidden gem. Surrounded by beautiful rural views, yet just 10 minutes from Birmingham Airport and 1 hour 40 minutes from London Heathrow, there is amazing accessibility to this country retreat.

The lovely approach reveals the pretty white house through the trees, with elegant lawns flanking the pathway. Stepping into the entrance hall feels like entering an oasis of calm, with high ceilings and abundance of glass creating a wonderfully light and airy feel. The plentiful living spaces here are homely, yet full of super-stylish design flair, with beautiful original features combining with contemporary touches such as mood lighting and a fully integrated sound system. The spacious drawing room feels cosy and welcoming, with plenty of comfy seating and a large screen TV ideal for watching that all important game or simply relaxing with a glass of red by the fire. A door way leads through to the office and snug, a spacious and versatile area which can be used as another lounge and workspace, or converted to a meeting or presentation room, or even as an additional bedroom if required. There is a further sitting room adjacent to the kitchen, with plenty of toys, games and books perfect for keeping little ones entertained.

The chic gloss kitchen is fully fitted with state of the art equipment to satisfy the most demanding of chefs, with a huge breakfast bar and stunning skylight flooding the room with light.

A glass walkway leads through to the spacious open plan dining area, a stunning Orangery style room with a glass ceiling with space for 23 people to dine in style and doors to the terrace with lovely views. For the ultimate indulgence why not enlist the services of the Michelin-trained chef, to cater for one meal or your entire stay, complete with staff to look after the washing up.

This leads through to the amazing entertainment room, with its vast open fireplace, lavish furnishings, a full size snooker table and funky speakers concealed in the contemporary artwork.  Throw the doors open and let the fresh country air in, or relax on the terrace with a chilled glass of fizz. Just off this room is a corridor with a stunning bedroom suite with a vast ensuite wet room, and leads on to a sun lounge again full of stylish décor and statement pieces, along with doors to the terrace and covered outdoor dining area, kitchen and pool.

This area is the icing on the cake, a fabulous space for celebrations and relaxing alike, with a large dining table and superbly equipped outdoor kitchen with a professional gas BBQ and fridge. There are speakers wired throughout the area ideal for plugging in your phone or MP3 player, and luxurious rattan furniture for relaxing by the heated swimming pool. Beyond the pool is a flat lawn which is perfect for a gazebo or marquee, or outdoor fun and games. The other side of the kitchen lies the terrace with a further al fresco dining area, which connects to the sun lounge.

A sweeping marble staircase leads to the grand master bedroom suite, a truly indulgent room with a huge double jacuzzi bath with views over the gardens, its own gym overlooking the grounds, vast walk in wardrobe and a stunning en-suite shower room with his and hers sinks and a walk in shower. The Janene bedroom is located beyond the dressing area, a bright and cosy king size room with beautiful views. Please do note although there is a wall and door separating this room, the wall doesn’t extend all the way to the ceiling, so may be best suited to families or groups of friends.

There is the Parker king size bedroom on the ground floor which uses the family bathroom, along with a doorway to a steep staircase leading to a further king size bedroom called Alexandra with lovely views and a spacious en suite shower room. There is another beautiful ground floor king size bedroom suite called Safari with its own en-suite wet room accessed via the entertainment room, ideal for guests with limited mobility.

A separate stairway from the entrance hall leads to the remaining bedrooms and a beautiful family bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and marble tiling. The Black and Gold Bedroom is a lavish and opulent room with rich colours and fabrics, a king size bed with a regal canopy and a spacious en-suite shower room. The Katherine bedroom is a twin or triple bedroom overlooking the grounds, and up a further steep staircase is the Cordilera Suite with a king size four poster bed and en-suite bathroom, and the Arabella room with three single beds which shares the family bathroom.

The grounds here are very private and secure, ensuring guests the utmost privacy and discretion. The beautiful gardens include manicured lawns and pretty flower borders, and there is a large patio area with al fresco dining which has French doors to the dining room, entertainment room and sun lounge. Beyond this lies the amazing outdoor kitchen and covered outdoor dining room, along with a terrace with sun loungers and comfy seating and a fabulous outdoor heated swimming pool (open from April – October).
